| Finally, it's time for the Sinnoh League. And Ash soon discovers that his preliminary battle is against Nando - the Pokémon minstrel and the first trainer he befriended in Sinnoh. Ash decides to use his Quilava, Heracross and Staraptor, as Nando sends out Roserade, Kricketune and Armaldo. At first Nando takes the initiative, but later Ash grasps the situation gradually, by understanding Nando's style and rhythm. During the battle, Ash's Quilava learns Aerial Ace and his Heracross learns Focus Punch & Sleep Talk. At last, Ash defeats Nando, and moves on to his next match. Meanwhile, Barry, Conway and Paul also make it through the preliminaries. Note: A mystery trainer with a legendary Pokémon - Darkrai was showed a while in this episode. | ||||

| With Kevin having absorbed Ultimatrix's aliens and gone back to his insane state, he returns back to the old Null Void prison, Ben and Gwen, searching for answers, realize they have to go to the prison in an attempt to stop Kevin from destroying the warden, Morgg. There are also flashbacks that Kevin has, how he left his first mutation and started to absorb solid matter both with the help of a fellow inmate named Quarrel, and showed how he escaped from the prison in the process getting Quarrel killed by Morgg. Ben and Gwen soon realize that Morgg is forcing the prisoners mine a blue substance that acts like a hallucenagenic drug which Morgg has been selling for that exact propose. Kevin manages to catch up with Morgg to exact his revenge, dropping him in an elevator and cutting the line. Gwen manages to save him using her powers, having ended up in the deep end of the mind. But by the time they hit surface the prison is in ruins, Kevin has fled the prison and Ben thinks that Kevin may have to be put down. | |||||

| It's almost time for the Sinnoh League, and in training, Ash has decided to get all of his Reserve Pokémon together for some training and to decide who to use in the league. However, when they arrive in Sinnoh, they all get out of their Poké Balls and are playing about nearby. To top it off, Team Rocket arrives with a dastardly scheme to capture all of Ash's Pokémon. But the Poké Balls get separated from Team Rocket, so Ash and co. searches and finds Totodile, Corphish, Snorlax and Bayleef. Cyndaquil is left, but Team Rocket finds it first. It then uses its new move Flame Wheel to crash into a tree and set it on fire. Ash and the others see the smoke and find it. They then destroy the machine but it fixes itself, and Team Rocket goes after Cyndaquil again. Just as they reach for it, Cyndaquil glows and evolves into Quilava. Quilava then learns Eruption to blast off Team Rocket. They then celebrate. After that, Glalie, Torkoal, Noctowl, Donphan and Muk show up so Ash can start his training session. At last, the Sinnoh League starts and Ash's first opponent will be Nando. Who will win? | |||||
