| Dawn, Ash and Brock arrive at Chocovine Town and find everyone in a festive mood. It is not the upcoming contest in Chocovine Town everyone is excited about, but it is the annual visit of the Phione. These rare aquatic Pokémon can be seen in town that are said to bring good luck. That night, Dawn and her friends take a Phione watching tour on a submarine, and unaware of that the submarine is crewed by Team Rocket. Three Phione swim past the submarine and one is so interested in Dawn’s Buneary that when the other Phione continued their way, it stayed behind. After the tour is over, Team- Rocket comes and catches the lonely Phione that is left behind, but makes a mistake of letting it out to swim in the town fountain. Phione uses Acid Armor and escapes down the drain to search for Buneary. Phione finds Dawn and Buneary training on a beach. Team- Rocket shows up to recapture Phione. As soon as it sees Buneary with Pikachu, it challenges Pikachu as a rival for Buneary’s affections! Buneary steps in and challenges Phione to a battle itself: if Phione wins, Buneary goes on a date with it. Captivated by the drama, Team Rocket abandons their plan to see what will happen. Soon after the battle starts, Buneary and Phione both use their Ice Beam and neither Pokémon seems to have the advantage. Buneary uses the opportunity to strike while Phione is distracted, knocking Phione down. Phione bids Buneary farewell and turns to leave. When Team Rocket tries to grab Phione, Buneary and Phione, both use their Ice Beam so Pikachu can blast them off. Phione still have a broken heart, but Buneary promises to battle it again some day. With happiness, Phione swims into the water and rejoins it’s Phione friends. | |||||
