| Dawn, who just received Piplup, laid her sights on Jubilife City. Ash's weakened Pikachu appears in front of her, closely pursued by Team Rocket. Ash begins his search for Pikachu when he reunited with Brock on the way. Later on, Ash captured a Starly. While Ash had met Professor Rowan for the first time, Dawn had just left the laboratory. The two of them then begin to track each other down with the aid of Professor Rowan, Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny.
